Mayor of Tychy

Mayor of Tychy, member of the local government, journalist.

He was elected Mayor of Tychy in the local elections in April 2024. From January 2024, he was the acting Mayor of the City of Tychy.

From 2018 to 2023, he was the Mayor’s Deputy of Tychy for Social Affairs, responsible for education, culture, health promotion and prevention, as well as social assistance.

Maciej Gramatyka is a graduate of sociology at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Silesia.

In 2010 he became a councillor of the City of Tychy. From 2014 to 2018, he was the Chairman of the Tychy City Council.

He is the initiator of the reactivation of the Youth Council of the City of Tychy and the implementation of the "Youth Participatory Budget" project in the city. For many years, he has been involved in the organization of local cultural events in Tychy, such as the Three Kings Day Procession and the Port of Songs of Work Chanty  Festival.

From 2016 to 2018, he held the position of Director of the Department of Social Communication and Spokesman of the Marshal's Office of the Silesian Voivodeship. He was also responsible for the promotion of the province.

From 2014 to 2016, he worked as a spokesman for the Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Katowice.

As a radio journalist with a twenty years of experience, he could be heard on Radio Flash, Radio Plus Katowice (where he was also the editor-in-chief), and at Radio eM, where he was the head of the antenna.

He is a winner of numerous competitions for journalists, and of the title of "Medical Journalist of the Year 2012".
Since 2016, he has been a member of the Programme Council of Radio Katowice.
